Obsessed with Books...
Hey guys!
So if you hadn't noticed the title, I appear to be utterly infatuated with books. I mean, I've always liked books, but this is to the extreme. While most procrastinate doing homework on social media, I procrastinate on Book Depository. Yes, it's that bad.
I don't quite know how to fuel this sudden need for books. Do I just go ahead and buy a million? But I don't have enough money, and probably won't read them for a while anyways. I seriously have a problem.
I guess I could read, but I don't have much time for that. I'm going back to school on Monday and that's keeping me on my toes. I could watch another BookTube video, but I'm pretty sure I've already watched them all. Oh, well.
I seriously want to buy some books though. It's really hard to explain. I just want to buy one book and I'll be super happy. I don't understand how some people can just buy around ten books every month and still have money. Plus I'm going to need a debit card if I'm going to buy most of the books that I want. And a few other bookshelves.
It's these times when I wish I was old enough to have a job. Then I could buy all the books I want. But there's still an issue with space. And I could get ebooks but I still don't have a debit card, my parents won't buy them for me even if I pay them back and I don't really feel like having to save up for a giftcard all the time. Ugh...
I think I had better stop now heheh. Probably just watch some BookTube videos and then browse Book Depository. I'm so sad.
Sorry for all this crazy book rambling,
Hazel

How to Start the New Year Right
Hey guys!
Today I'm talking about starting the brand new year in the right way. I always love the feeling of a fresh start and the power to mold this year into anything I want. I always dream of it being positive, productive and successful, but to make a new year anything, you have to start it right. Here are some of my tips!
The first thing I'm going to say is to set goals. How are you going to make the year successful if you don't know what you want to do? A healthy amount of goals to make is about 3-5, but you can make more (I made eleven this year!). Think about what it is you would like to achieve and perhaps take a couple things off your bucket list. Not only does it give you something to work towards, it gives you motivation too!
The next thing I'm going to say is that you should get some sort of planner. This can range from a cheap notebook with a couple dates inside to a £50 job with pretty designs and complex layouts. You could even set up a bullet journal for yourself, like I have this year. Anyway, the key thing is that you can really organise what you're doing this year and keep track of what you need to do as well. This really helps me to feel super organised and like I really can handle everything the year is throwing at me!
My third tip is to change your look. Alter your style, cut your hair out even just buy a new pair of earrings. The point is to feel as though you're a new, fresh person and that you've left the bad parts of you that you made in 2016 behind. Live your life with a fresh outlook on the world and be the person that you want to be in 2017.
Another tip is to declutter! Just go over your clothes, books and general possessions and donate everything you don't need/use to the local charity shop. It'll make you feel so much cleaner and organised and therefore bring you closer to a perfect start to the new year.
My last tip is to pursue a new hobby. Interested in stars? Take up stargazing! Love eating yummy cakes? Try baking! There's an endless array of delightful hobbies to try, so why not find one for the new year? If it makes you happy, there's no reason not to!
And that's my list of things that you should definitely try in the new year. Let's all work towards a happier, successful and productive 2017!
Happy blogging (and new year),

New Year's Resolutions 2017!
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Let us all hope that this year will be better than the last, despite Donald Trump's looming presidency. I actually feel oddly excited for the months to come, like something good and exciting will actually happen to me. I normally feel quite sad at this time, mourning the previous 12 months. Perhaps it's different because 2016 was such a party-pooping idiot.
Anyway, as I'm sure most people will have, I have set a couple new year's resolutions. When I say a couple, I, of course, mean 11. This may sound like a lot for some of you, but I am actually going to try to work on each of these goals throughout the year and perhaps something will come of it somehow.
Anyway, I should probably get into what they actually are:
1) Do the best I can in school
This is pretty self-explanatory. I seriously feel as though my grades are slipping since I joined my school and I really need to get a grip on them again so that I can do the best I can and have all the opportunities possible for me.
2) Learn Spanish
I know that this is a little out there and, trust me, I don't expect myself to be a fluent Spanish speaker by the end of the year. This goal exists simply to push me to really focus on learning Spanish so that I can really progress in the language because I love the country which I visit almost every year with my family.
3) Sustain my blog
Now this is a goal you will have heard before! I really do want to commit to this blog and post frequently and grow the blog out a little bit because I have been terrible at that in the past. But it's a new year and a fresh start. Who knows what could happen?
4) Read 50 books
This is my Goodreads goal for the year of 2017. It was my goal for last year too but I'm going to keep it the same because I have the feeling that I'll be a lot busier this year.
5) Try learning to play a musical instrument
Long story short: I don't play any musical instrument. And I would like to. Yeah, basically. If anyone has any ideas of a good instrument for someone who hasn't ever played an instrument before and can't read sheet music, please tell because I have no idea what I'm doing with this really!
6) Learn to code
I just think that it would be super cool to know how to code games and websites and cool stuff like that so I'm going to try and learn a new skill. We've been doing some at school so I feel really intrigued and really want to be able to make my own suff!
7) Take up photography
Okay so this is something I considered sometime last year too. I would really love to be a photographer but the trouble is... I am terrible at taking photos. And I don't have a decent camera - only a polaroid that costs a fortune to restock with film. Even my phone's camera is rubbish, but I should be getting a new one soon. Perhaps if I practice enough, I'll get better. Perhaps.
8) Save up money
Yeah, I'm kinda broke. There's no way I can buy anything that I just want. I have to save up for ages to buy one issue of a magazine. It's unfortunate. But I'm doing a money saving challenge so that every day of the year, I put in the amount of pennies of that day. For example, today I'll put in 1p, tomorrow 2p and so on. It's supposed to give you a real chunk of change at the end. Meanwhile, I'll be doing a ton of chores to earn some extra cash. It should work out fine.
9) Become a writer
When I say this, I mean someone who writes regularly - there's no way I could publish a book or anything! I really do love creative writing and really want to get better and practice it every day. This year I am going to do that and it should hopefully benefit me and my writing.
10) Be creative
I'm not actually a very creative person. I can't just think up ideas by myself - I have to be inspired or given the ideas right into my hands. I really want to give my imagination a workout by engaging in creative projects throughout the year. Perhaps by the end, I'll be more creative!
11) Adopt a healthy lifestyle
And here it is, the one on everyone's list. To be healthy. I'm actually going to try and stick at it though: sweets only every other day, workout twice a week, eat more fruit... Yeah. I think I can do it.
So those are my new year's resolutions. It is quite a lot actually, now I look back on it, but I'm going to try to complete each one and sustain them throughout the year.
What are your resolutions and how are you going to maintain them? I bet you don't have as many as I do!
Anyhow, I hope everyone has a wondrous new year full of growth, happiness and dreams.
Happy blogging,

Thoughts on the Blog
Hey guys!
Okay, so, I know that this is getting super annoying now and super repetitive but I am saying it now with complete conviction and I am ready to commit to this: I'm going to make actual blog posts about actual things regularly.
I haven't at all recently but my brain send to have unlocked a magical section absolutely brimming with post ideas so I might actually post some quality content, at least for a time.
In other news, me and my friends have set up a joint blog that's about absolutely anything so go check that out: www.greatblogofeverything.blogspot.com
I'm going to sign off now but will hopefully be making my first, awesome, good-quality post tomorrow in the brand new year.
Happy blogging,

Effort and Determination
Hi guys!
So, I have not been very good with this blog. The posts are terrible, the schedule is terrible. It's terrible. And I want to change that. Desperately.
I want to make this blog a magical place to be, but I know that it's going to take work to get it to the kind of standard that is noticed and that I want it to be (I'm kind of a perfectionist). The whole point of starting this blog was to better my writing, and I honestly haven't been doing too much writing on here. In fact, I haven't been doing too much on here at all.
This blog is supposed to be about my life. So maybe I should actually devote some of my life to it. Hopefully the posts will be a little more interesting and regular as I spend more time trying to get it perrrfect.
The trouble is, my life is not an interesting one. I'm not part of a super rich family, I don't have a load of adventures... I'm not interesting. But I'm going to try. I'm going to try my very best to brainstorm all sorts of ideas for posts. I'm going to do this, and I'm going to do this right.
I'm going to say bye now.
Happy blogging,

Guilt
Hello!
I hope you've been faring well. I have been. This post is all about that horrible feeling of guilt. I feel guilty all the time, so much, in fact, that I end up ignoring it because I know that I'm just being silly. There are some things to feel guilty about, and some things that are not to be guilty about.
I feel guilty every time I let someone down or do something wrong for someone or accidentally hurt someone. I just want to please people, and so that is my prime source for guilt. I need to learn that you don't have to do something just because people tell you to do it. You need to listen to what you want and work out what you want to do that way.
What kind of things do you feel guilty about? Are they silly, or reasonable? How are you going to help yourself stop feeling guilty?

The Little Things
Hello!
I think I'm officially back now after that loooooong hiatus. I'm not going to post every day like I've been saying. I'll probably just settle for weekly because otherwise I'll just end up falling out of it again because I'd be really overwhelmed.
As to what's happened to me whilst I was gone, I've started high school. It's fun but so much more challenging than junior school and the days are so much longer. I'm more tired after a day but it's somehow so much more satisfying.
Anyway, this post is all about the little things that make the world go round. A refreshing bike ride. The sunset on the ocean. A homemade birthday cake. The soft breaths of a sleeping loved one.
It's all of these things that make me the happiest. Tiny little things that may not matter to anyone else, but make me feel good about myself and the world. Things that perhaps nobody else notice. Things that make everything that little more beautiful.
I'm writing this post to tell you guys to notice these little things, and to maybe write them down. This exercise helps you be grateful and to just become an all round better person.
Until next time,
Bubblegum x
